Kinda glad I scored so low …
13
I get a real laugh out of Christian culture sometimes. I don’t know if the fact that I’m sometimes a part of Christian culture means that I’m allowed to laugh at it, but I do. I should probably take some of this stuff more seriously, but stuff like this makes me chuckle: the always changing definition of what Christian music is, the trendy words that come in and out of style to be able to specify the “cool Christians” from the “lame Christians”, oh oh oh and especially the fact that worship leaders now have the stereotype of being “metrosexual”.
Metrosexual, by the way, meaning: noun, a young urban, heterosexual male with liberal political views, an interest in fashion, and a refined sense of taste.
My pastor sent me this link today:
Understanding how metrosexual your worship leader is. (A handy guide)
I confess, I took a the quiz for fun. I scored 16 points. I was proud of that score.
I know a lot of guys who would score a lot higher. They’re cool.
But I take pride in my low score. What brought it down? Owning a red/black flannel shirt, wearing ties and owning suspenders. Umm … last time I checked, all of those things are kinda awesome. Take that, universe. As far as the soul patch, owning lady jeans, using Twitter and owning a white belt … well, I guess there’s a little “metro” in all of us, huh?
What’s my point? I have no idea. Still getting a hang of what I want this blog to be/do.
Do you think that quiz is ridiculous? How do you feel about this whole separate “Christian culture” thing? How’d you score?
